Fiber to the Home Communications System for Pacifica
Greenfield Communications, Inc. (Greenfield) is pleased
to offer a new state of the art Fiber to the Home
Telecommunication System to all residents of the Pacifica Community. Greenfield will design, construct and
operate the Fiber to the Home System. The System utilizes
a PON (Passive Optical Node) technology which allows
voice, video and high-speed data services to be delivered
to each home without the need of active
electronics in the outside plant (no above grade pedestals
or power requirements). This design enables services to be
delivered to residents with the highest levels of
reliability.
The system is capable of providing High-Speed Internet,
Cable TV, and Voice Services over a fiber optic line to
each home. Greenfield's initial service offering will
consist of High-Speed Internet service with speeds up to
10Mbps down/3Mbps up, and will also include a community
Intranet. The fee for the High-Speed Internet service will
be included in each residents Home Owners Association
dues, without the need for any DSL or cable modems to be
purchased. The Fiber-To-The-Home system
itself is capable of providing even higher speeds per
home, and since the system is also capable of carrying
voice and cable TV services, Greenfield will continue to
grow and offer expanded services to all residents.
Having a FTTH infrastructure affords a sense of future
proofing the "last mile" communications pipe to each home.
Residents of Pacifica will not only be afforded
faster data speeds and better quality, they will also be
able to take advantage of future technologies and
applications such as video-on-demand, video streaming,
HDTV, application hosting, interactive gaming, and any
other current of future broadband services.
